Marshall Media Announces Official Online Broadcast Partnership for Gridlock New Year's Eve Celebration at Paramount Studios
GLENDALE, Calif., Oct. 16, 2007 – Marshall Media, Inc., the innovative leader in the digital media market, today announced its partnership with Hardball Productions to be the official online broadcast provider for the Gridlock New Year's Eve celebration at the world-famous Paramount Studios in Hollywood. This year's event, hosted by multi-platinum rapper 50 cent and attended by scores of A-list celebrities, will be streamed live in high-definition over the Internet, using Marshall Media's breakthrough Infinibeam HD technology.
“The decision to partner with Marshall Media to broadcast Gridlock NYE online in HD was based on their ability to deliver a truly unique digital media experience,” said Matthew Gavin, CEO of Hardball Productions. “They have the technology, the resources and the expertise to provide viewers an uninterrupted Web presentation that is just like watching standard TV – clean, smooth playback – and ultimately giving us a global audience.”
The Gridlock New Year's Eve 2007 celebration will benefit the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation, which was co-founded by Peter Samuelson and Steven Spielberg. In past years, celebrity hosts have included Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra, with crowd-pleasing performances by the Pussycat Dolls and Grammy-nominated rock band, The Killers.
This year, Gridlock NYE is expected to be one of the largest and most entertaining live New Year's Eve events in the world. It will feature five full sound stages, an exciting light show and multi-media capabilities. In addition to being televised nationally on Fox, the celebration will enjoy an extended reach to millions of Web viewers, who can tune in online to Marshall Media's HD live production feed at both www.gridlockla.com and www.marshallmediainc.com. Later, fully edited one- and two-hour HD programs will be made available by license to entertainment-oriented HDTV networks, along with short segments for mobile phone viewing.
“We are very excited to be such an integral part of this year's Gridlock New Year's Eve celebration,” said Charlie Marshall, CEO and founder of Marshall Media. “This event has already established itself as a preeminent holiday celebration – and we look forward to expanding it onto the global stage, by streaming it in high-definition to millions of people worldwide.”
About Marshall Media, Inc. Marshall Media, Inc. (MMI) is a privately owned media technology company involved in the creation and acquisition of high-definition (HD) audio-video content, the delivery of this content to end-users by means of next generation, high-resolution streaming over both the public Internet as well as traditional broadcast, cable, satellite and cellular systems, and the development of an innovative all-optical media transmission (AOMT) network infrastructure.
MMI is also involved in the development of a revolutionary digital data storage technology known as the Quanta Data Writer (QDW). This technology is capable of writing thousands of terabytes of data (yottabytes) – several orders of magnitude greater than any other optical disc media. The QDW and its companion, the Optical Beam Router (OBR) universal optical reader, which will read QDW media along with CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray and HD DVDs, create a wider choice for content creators and end-users.
Applying these advanced technologies, MMI is entering the content creation and live broadcasting/streaming arena, with an initial focus on U.S. sports events, telemedicine, incident/emergency management and corporate communications.
